It is always good to have a goal when designing and making quilts and this can lead you to running out of inspiration and sometimes it’s just nice to creat what can be described as quilts of a simple design but with a deserved goal.
One outlet for this are charity quilts and I’m involved with three charities. Two are for Frimley Park Hospital, they being quilts for premature babies who sadly don’t always survive and the Children’s Cancer ward.
The third is for those a little later in life and these quilts are made for the Q4CL charity which was founded by Maggie Lloyd-Jones. The quilts are distributed to young adults who have left the care system and the Q4CL website can do a much better job of describing the issues involved than I can so please visit it and possibly get involved.
